When will the app be available?

We are in final testing and plan to launch on iOS, Android, and Amazon in 2026. Join the waitlist on our homepage to be notified first — early access includes 1 free week on any paid plan.
How does the entertainment lock work?

Read2Play uses Android’s UsageStats API and iOS Screen Time API to monitor app usage. Until a child meets their daily reading goal, any app or game outside of Read2Play is blocked. The lock lifts automatically once the goal is met — no parent action needed.
Is it suitable for children with speech delays or accents?

We use OpenAI’s Whisper model which is trained on a wide variety of accents and speech patterns. We are actively working to improve accuracy for children with speech differences. Parents can adjust the accuracy threshold in the parent dashboard if needed.
How is audio data handled? Is my child’s voice stored?

Raw audio is never stored on our servers. Short audio chunks are sent in real time to OpenAI’s Whisper API for transcription, then discarded immediately. We only store the resulting accuracy score and any words the child struggled with. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Can my child read physical books with the app?

Not currently. Read2Play reads along in sync with its built-in library so it can track word-by-word accuracy. Physical book support with manual page-flip is on our roadmap for a future update.
How do I delete my child’s data?

You can delete a child’s profile from the parent dashboard at any time. This removes all associated reading history, level data, and profile information within 30 days. You can also email team@readtoplay.org with the subject “COPPA Request” for assistance.
What does the free plan include?

The free plan includes 1 child profile, access to 10 classic books, a daily reading timer, a basic quiz after each session, and an AI reading level assessment once per month. The entertainment lock feature requires Core ($4.99/mo) or Premium ($9.99/mo).
